How to get my hair cut?

I'm growing my hair out this summer, and the day before school starts, i'm going to a salon to get it done. I need some ideas on what to do! My hair is medium-light brown with natural blonde highlights. Its THICK THICK and wavy. It is also about 2-3 inches longer than shoulder length. I usually get it straightened, because I don't like curly or wavy looks on myself. Oh and I am definetly getting it layered to make it thinner. Pictures and websites would be GREAT! :] Thanks, xoxo
