After you take a shower, put a little mousse in, and braid your hair until it's dry. I always do that. Works like a charm.

Honestly, if you only want your hair STRAIGHT on certain occassions, I would get a perm and then just straighten it when you want it straight.

I have super straight hair too. There are so many shampoos that can add volume to your hair as well as waves.

Scrunch a palmful of mousse through your damp hair and let it air-dry, try Suave Professionals Scrunching Mouse its like 3$ at drugstores. Next, make waves by wrapping 1-inch sections of your hair around a medium-barrel curling iron. :)!

towel dry your hair, then scruch it with hair mousse, then wrap some barst of you har around your finger to give it s few curls. It will be wavy, but a sort of messy wavy look.
If you want a neat wave, I would go the the hair dressers and inquire about getting a body wave (like a perm but nor as curly).
Goodluck

If you want to invest 30 bucks in a Caruso Hairsetter, you can probably get one on-line. It's steam and heats up quickly. I've had mine for about 10 years and I also have very straight/fine hair - I swear by it.. If you're in a hurry you can put the curlers in and by the time you get done rolling you can start to take the first ones out. I usually keep mine in for 5 minutes though. To get the wave (instead of curl) I curl and twist the roller as I go up.
