Thick hair with layers?

I was thinking about getting layers in my hair but I want to see if it will work with me first. I have really thick hair at medium length and it's curly (when I don't blow dry it). I have blondish brown hair... and I'm a girl. :-P And I also have a squarish face. Just tell me if it would work with my type of hair and face. Or if I should wait 'til my hair is longer so it won't poof out as much.

Give me truthful answers, please. :-)

Thick hair with layers?

You should wait for it to grow out, but if your hair is curly it'll poof no matter what. Been there, done that. Awful, haha. I suggest getting long layers. It thins out your hair, you have bangs, and.. its layered. =)

I have hair and a face shape a lot like yours and I have layers and they do not work very well, but I did get a very bad haircut so the layers are way too high and it makes my hair very poofy. I have gotten layers that are not very high (only about and inch from the longest spot) and they look very good. I would recommend not getting the front of your hair cut so that it is fading down. You should only get layers in the back. What kind of hairstyles to you use because I'm having a lot of trouble finding hairstyles. Hope this helps.

P.S. You should also try straightening it. That's what I do and I love it straight.

Get rid of some of it by having them cut a wedge above the ears (like about 1/4 high, from where hair starts to top of ear)

Get it all layered, but make sure 1st layer is long enough so it won't poof. Have them cut it in towards your face (so that if you curled it all under all the way around it would go in towards your face. This style will work for the days you don't want to "do " your hair you just leave it curly and it will still be cute

Actually, that'd look really cute! You should try it...
