They'll have to grow out... but lemon juice is subtle, so it just makes your hair look "sun-kissed" -- like you've been out in the sun all summer. If you want to keep it up, you apply the same lemon juice to the roots every month or so. Getting rid of it isn't as easy... you just have to let it grow out. Hydrogen Peroxide does the same thing.

Your hair will grow and they will be gone. If you want to get rid of them now, you can dye your hair.

Keep 'em for now (in my humble opinion), and let it grow out... you will only look stupid for a few months... only because you'd have to put more chemicals in your hair, in order to put it back the way it was... but I suspect she did that with your blessing, otherwise it wouldn't be done... right?
