I was told that my great-father on my mother's side was half Cherokee and was originally from North Carolina and migrated to Tennessee. I've always considered myself a light to medium complexed white with hazel-colored eyes and thin, medium brown hair. However, I do have a round face with high cheek bones, almond-shaped eyes, and dark heavy eyebrows. What else can you tell me about Cherokee Indians? I heard that they never wore the big feather headresses.

I'm not sure. I always thought of pure blooded Indians to have black or brown hair, brown eyes, often with medium skin but can range from light to dark. And if you have white blood any hair and eye color you can think of. I'm not sure about Cherokees specifically but I know that different Indian nations have different facial characteristics.

Why don't you ask the people who tell you that?

Not being rude but it would make most sense.

Maybe they don't even really know and it's just a sense.

I don't know much about the features exept the high cheekbones, dark hair%26amp;brows and shape of eye. I would have thought that skin would be dark though. Although you are of course quite far down the line now..

What do you mean by dark/medium white?? Tanned? Not pale..? I'm a bit confused there
