Bad hair day EVERYDAY!?

Everytime i wash my hair, or even wet it, and let it air dry, or blow dry, it get's flyaway, and frizzy!!!! i just don't know what to dooo!!!

My hair is medium, brown, short, and straight/wavy...

I use garnier fructis, pantene, or Dove.

I want my hair to be long, straight, weighted down/heavy.

I don't like my hair at all. Can you give me some advice?

Thank you! :)

Read the book and visit the site below about curly/wavy hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your wavy hair- be happy for life! The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent. They dry out curly hair. Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt are all that is needed. Then spread conditioner on outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working. It is also important to use gel on wet hair and scrunch the hair. This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least the website. Good luck!

Try using a flat iron.

Try using a smoothing serum on your wet hair - they're clear gels that are made to smooth the hair and make it less frizzy. I like Silking brand smoothing serum.

Also try one of the intense conditioners like Pantene Winter Rescue once a week.

I also use a mousse that's intended to give smooth hair (I like the Ice Shine one from Pantene) - that gives my hair some control and keeps it from being too poofy.

One of the best things I've found to give me soft, silky, non-frizzy hair is olive oil. I massage some in and leave it in for a few hours, then wash it out. It washes out very easily, its not greasy or heavy and it really conditions and restores the hair.

Well I know how you feel because I had the same problem as you. But I fixed the problem by coming my hair with a com, changing shampoo product, and dryed my hair with a towl, I dont know if it will help but good luck to ya!!!

First, if you allow your hair to air dry use a gel on your hair to keep it from frizzing. I'd use professional gel from a salon so that you're sure it doesn't clog your hair follicles. Don't touch it until its totally dry. You touch it - you revert it to the frizz.

If you blow dry it while its short its important to use a round brush - even a small one. Blow dry it slow so that you have time to style it before its totally dry. Blow your hair in a downward motion - not just all over your head. If you blow your hair towards the roots/scalp it will cause the hair follicle to lift - and that's the frizz. If you blow dry your hair from the scalp to the ends of your hair - it will dry smooth.

When your hair is totally dry, use a flat iron (like a curling iron but flat). Pull your hair in small sections through the flat iron from the scalp down. This will smooth your hair very nicely. It takes a little practice but is very successful - I have the same problem you do ;-).

And, if you want your hair to grow long - only cut it 1/2 inch every 6 months. Your hair will grow about 1/2 inch each month. No more than that.

Hope this helps.

My hair is about the same as yours and I recently purchased Kerastase shampoo and mask (the orange one). I know it's kind of expensive but it's worth it. Also, don't wash your hair too often. And when you do wash it, put it up on a ponytail for the first day. Hope this helps!

To tell you the truth, what brand of shampoo you use really doesn't matter. Everything is similar now. For long hair, you just need to give it some time to grow. Brushing your hair regularly is important to promote long, healthy hair. And don't skip getting a trim every month and a half or so. When you cut the split ends off, your hair stays smoother and softer. If it's puffy, after you wash it, towel-dry it and run some anti-frizz cream through your hair with your fingers (from root to end). Believe me, the last thing you want is a lot of heaviness on your head. It only makes your head feel uncomfortably weighed down. BTW: there's no reason to dislike your hair. Many women would do anything for volume. You just need to know how to take care of it. :)

Use a good conditioner from a salon. Alot of those you mentioned above contain alcohol and dry out your hair.

You can also use a leave on conditioner where you put it on after you shampoo. Blow dry your hair with a nylon type brush. Straighten your hair out as you go.

My hair get's like that too! I'm growing my hair out.. it totally helps! And try SelsonBlue.. it's a dandruff shampoo.. but it makes your hair less flyaway!

Do one of a few things....

1. You have wave, use it to your advantage. I like those curling serums, that help hold the curls (when I go curly) allow your hair to air dry, and while its doing so, scrunch it with your hands every so often...kinda styling it as it dries. But your going to have to have some product in your hair...to avoid the fly aways, or poof.

2. Blow dry, using product.....a paddle brush, and learn how to straighten your hair as you dry.

3. Another trick I like to do is, put a product on my hair, and pull it back tight at the nap of my neck...letting it dry. Of course, you'll have the one dip where the holder was, but it will help hold your hair, and semi straighten it as it dries.

Your just going to have to work with your hair texture, and work it to your advantage....we all weren't born with that glorious trouble free mane.....I tend to have that Don King look in the mornings sometimes....LOL
