To begin with, i have medium thickness hair, but it is very full. It is extremely damaged frizzy and dry and i'm up for anything. I dont know what styling products i should be using(serem, gel ,straightening balm, etc) and i dont really know how to style my hair and when to use the products. So if you can please give me a step by step way to get moisturized healthy looking straight hair.
I also want to know if i should air dry my hair or blow dry, and the products to use with it. Thank you for all your help!!!
What are the basic products and appliances should i use to get shiny, straight, smooth hair?
My hair is similar in texture to yours so I'll say what I do. I always dry my hair naturally; blow dryers give me frizz, but I apply Rene Furterer Fioravanti straightening gel when its wet then I comb it out to make my hair sleeker before straightening. I use a Chi straightener which is very effective in keeping it striaight all day.

my hair sounds in the same condition as yours. i wash my hair as usualy and use lee stafford moisture seal available from supermarkets or chemists. and then use straightening heat protection spray and then straighten my hair with GHD straighteners. :)

I would avoid straightening your hair frequently as that is probably causing a lot of the damage. I have hair similar to yours, and I use biosilk shampoo, conditioner, and silicone serum, and I just blowdry my hair with an ionizing hair dryer. The Biosilk products are expensive, but the set I listed above often goes on sail at department store hair salons for well below the retail price.

Why is your hair dry? Are you not getting enough oil in your diet? My hair is fine but thick and semi-curly. I think my hair is dry but usually my stylist says its healthy. I've read before that vo5 heat protectant isn't very good, so I would try switching to something else. I haven't had much luck finding one either, but I'm on the search. You can use coconut oil to moisturize your hair as a deep conditioning treatment, but make sure and shampoo it out or you'll have oily hair. Do you wash your hair every day? If so, I would cut back to every other day or every 3 days. I've done this and I've noticed that my hair is much healthier now. Air drying your hair will damage it less, but you may not get the look you are wanting. If you use a leave in conditioner, it will weight your hair down a bit, but will also help some of your frizzies.

Condition like crazy! Make sure you leave it sit for about four minutes before you rinse it.
-Use Garnier Fructis Smoothing Milk. Apply it by rubbing it in your hands and spreading it evenly from root to tip.
-Then get your blow-dryer. Blow dry your hair on low (very important) down-ward (what I mean is hold the dryer above your head and aim toward the ground).
-Brush your hair constantly while you are blow drying it, and get it completely dry.
This won't get your hair as straight as a flat iron but is far less damaging.
Best of luck.

I use something called silk therapy its like a hair cream.. and i use it after i take a shower then a again aftre blow drying my hair. It help make demaged of frizzy hair nice and soft and it protects your hair from like straightning and hot tools. It works really well.
