Go blonde gradually and you don't need to bleach your hair. But if you can't wait, you need to do the drastic thing and bleach it first, because brunettes will always have orange undertones. But to go blonde with no damage, do this. It takes a little longer but it's worth it. First, dye your hair the lightest brown shade in the ash range, like light ash brown. Then go the darkest ash blonde the next month. Then go to medium ash blonde the month after that. Till you get to light ash blonde the following month. The hair will accept the dye color change this way, with no problem, because you are only lightening it up by one shade each time. Any jumping ahead, and you won't get the right color results, because you're not doing the damaging bleaching step. Though this way takes longer, it turns out phenomenal results. And hairdressers don't do it this way because it's not profitable for them. They want to give you instant blonde and that can only be done with the bleaching process. If you want to do your hair yourself. This is the most foolproof way for a brunette to go blonde. It'll take you 4 or 5 months, but it's really worth it. And you don't damage your hair like when you force it too fast too hard. Easy does it and you'll have gorgeous blonde hair in any tone you want, and it'll look real and not plastic! You could speed things up a bit and do the color change every 3 weeks, but be careful, as your hair might start to look over-processed. Dyeing the hair is really drying, so it's better to control yourself and change your color slowly so you don't over-dry out your hair. It needs to recover inbetween dyeing, and condition it every time you shampoo, until your next coloring. Good luck!

=) Hi again! hehe..you should go to a beauty supply store, such as Sally Beauty Supply (they should have one where you live...) and they can get you all the necessary things you'll need to bleach your hair. But remember - since your hair is like a medium brown - lifting it that light will damage it some..and so after you bleach it, you should get a trim or ask your mom to trim it for you =) and use a good deep conditioner!!! Please do not do this at home. I implore you. Bleaching is one hair procedure I would never recommend to do at home because the chances of failure is so high. If you mix the chemicals in the wrong composition or if you leave the product on too long or too short, it can cause major disasters (i.e. wierd hair color and/or off streaking spots) and even hair loss/breakage. Please get it done at a professional salon. Think of it this way, when you mess up your hair doing it at home it will cost twice as much in a salon to correct it.
